We’re heading back to the Forest of Mount Hymettus for a relaxed, beginner-friendly hike with lots of fresh air and daytime energy. No racing, no awkward setups — just a good walk with good people 🫶

This edition is for singles aged 21–35 and will be guided by two certified mountain leaders from the Athens-based EOP Hiking Team. 🐾 Pets are welcome.

The plan

🕒 15:00 – Meet & check-in at the Dimitrios Karamolegos Fire Lookout (Kaisariani)
👋 Short welcome & intro (Thursday host + EOP guides)
🥾 15:15 – Hike begins: easy trails, relaxed pace, plenty of time to talk

We’ll walk:

– From the fire lookout towards the Kaisariani refreshment area (short break)
– Past an artificial pond with turtles & fish 🐢
– Up a short uphill stretch back onto the Hymettus trails
– Along the Botanical Trail, with signage explaining the local plant life
– To the 11th-century Monastery of Kaisariani, with a brief historical moment
– Past Taxiarchon Hill, ancient ruins, a Frankish monastery, and panoramic views over Attica 🌄

After a final break, we loop back to the starting point.

What to expect

⛰️ Elevation: 150–250 m
😌 Difficulty: Easy & relaxed — ideal for beginners

👟 Sports shoes are fine (hiking shoes recommended if available)

What to bring

– 1.5 L water
– Snacks
– Light rain jacket or poncho
– Extra socks
– Layered clothing
– Trekking poles (optional)

Provided

– Two certified mountain leaders (first-aid trained)
– First-aid kit
– Trekking poles
– Disposable rain ponchos
– 500 ml bottled water

As always, we monitor our ticket sales and ensure a 50/50 gender ratio.
