Our Matchbox AI Matching Night is landing at the iconic Story Bridge Hotel — a Brisbane favourite nestled beneath the bridge, where historic charm and buzzing energy set the scene for a little mystery under the city lights. ✨

This event will be held in the Bridge Garden & Bridge Bar on the ground floor, a warm and social space that blends classic Queensland character with a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere. 

This isn’t speed dating.
This isn’t awkward name tags.
This is intentional, value-based matching powered by relationship science, AI and behavioural economics, with just enough intrigue to keep things exciting.

It’s perfect if you’re looking for something that still feels relaxed and social, but slightly more facilitated than a regular bar mixer. You’ll be placed into values-aligned groups based on your questionnaire responses, creating space for both romantic sparks and genuine new friendships.

💌 How Matchbox Works

On arrival, you’ll complete a short questionnaire designed by Matchbox’s relationship scientists and curated by your host.

The algorithm then:

✨ Analyses your values and preferences
✨ Identifies your optimal mystery match at the event
✨ Places you into aligned connection groups
✨ Guides you through fun clue-based moments
✨ Reveals your match later in the night

You must arrive before 7:45pm to be included in the AI matching.

7:00pm — Doors open & mingling begins
7:45pm — Doors close, matching begins
7:45–8:45pm — Group connection moments + clues
9:00pm — Mystery match revealed 💘

💫 A Few Things to Know

Come with an open mind — the mystery is part of the magic.

If your match isn’t instant sparks, that’s okay. Matchbox prioritises long-term compatibility and shared values over surface-level attraction.

Either way, you’ll meet a vibrant group of 25–40 singles in a relaxed, respectful environment.

We aim to maintain a 50/50 gender split where possible. If numbers are uneven, some matches may be paired platonically — and in that case, you’ll receive a free ticket to a future Matchbox event of your choice.

✨ $25 Early Bird Ticket, $30 General Admission. $35 On The Door Ticket opened between 7:45-8pm on the night of the event pending no-shows (must still be purchased online).
