Imagine slipping into the warm embrace of your most cherished friend’s living room—except this friend has a knack for curating some really interesting wines. That’s Barkada. Perched right between the vibrant U Street nightlife and the charming rowhomes of Shaw, it feels like a snug oasis where laughter, low-key conversation, and excellent wine come together effortlessly 

The word barkada comes from Tagalog—meaning “a group of friends.” The vibe here absolutely honors that spirit—relaxed, friendly, and just slightly cheeky 

You’ll find yourself seated in plush, lounge-y banquettes, surrounded by a thoughtfully curated selection of small-batch, organic, and “natural” wines—many are low-intervention, meaning they’re minimally processed and often organically grown
